Our initiative, in collaboration with our valued partner, aims to construct and drill boreholes across numerous communities. This ambitious project seeks to provide clean drinking water to thousands of individuals, addressing the critical issue of water scarcity that many face.

Our proposal is for the construction of boreholes for a percentage of the 115 communities, providing clean drinking water to over 39,341 individuals.

The population of Assin collects most of their drinking water from polluted sources. Pollutants and poor sanitation contribute to various health problems in the community. Nearly half of the population lacks access to a protected water source for clean drinking water. Many of these unsafe sources include freestanding water, such as ponds, and unprotected wells. Infections and parasites, commonly found in contaminated water, are the leading causes of death in these deprived areas. Poor sanitation also increases the risk of diseases like hepatitis A and Typhoid fever. Additionally, stillwater creates breeding grounds for malaria-carrying mosquitoes, which contribute to one of the most common deadly infections in the region. Overall, health and living standards are poor. Our proposal focuses on a water hygiene initiative that includes the construction and digging of boreholes for a percentage of the 115 communities, aiming to provide a sustainable water supply and clean drinking water to over 39,341 people when fully executed.
