The population of Assin collects most of their drinking water from polluted sources. Pollutants and poor sanitation are attributed to some of the health problems in the community. Almost half of the population is not using a protected water source for drinking. Most of the unsafe drinking sources are freestanding water, such as ponds, and unprotected wells. Infections and parasites, most found in contaminated water, lead to the largest cause of death in these deprived areas. Poor sanitation generates high risk of hepatitis A and Typhoid fever. Stillwater breeds malaria-carrying mosquitoes that plague the region with one of the most common deadly infections contracted in the area. Overall, health and standard of living are poor. Our proposal is for construction and digging of bore hole for a percentage of the 115 Communities and aiming at providing clean and safe drinking water to over 39,341 people when completely executed.
Please donate to our clean water wells project and impact communities in need. Whether purchasing water or donating cash, every purchase helps ensure access to safe drinking water. Together, we can make a difference!
Building a community that values clean water is crucial to our mission. We engage with local leaders and residents to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility towards maintaining clean water sources.
